Description:

To make this vent use a part of the sprue tree and sand it into a rectangular shape. Cut this to a length equal to the height of the No 1 hatch. Round off one end to create the `curl' of the vent.

Then sand the opposite lower half to about 1/2 of the thickness of the sprue rectangle. The result looks like a set of steps. Then file the larger step to a 45 degree angle. As follows:
