Description:

This vent is similar to those seen on the bottom of the cowl vents but with a vertical vent pipe instead. The motor faced towards the bow of the ship and the pipe sat on the inboard side of the motor housing. In other words looking aft from the aft well deck the vertical vent is on the LEFT side of the motor housing

To build this vent:

  1. Build a left handed motor unit as described in the Motor Unit section of the Vent Overview.
  2. Build a rectangular duct and glue it opposite to the motor unit.
  3. Glue two lengths of 0.40 x 0.40 Evergreen strip side by side.
  4. Glue onto the top of the motor unit and allow to set.
  5. Cut the duct to the height of the underside of the Poop deck.
  6. Glue into place on the starboard side of the Poop Deck overhang with the motor facing forward.
